General

1. Leave the drama in character. If IC drama spreads OOC, a mod will step in to mediate.

2. No god-modding or powertripping.

3. IC does not equal OOC. OOC does not equal IC.

4. Keep your character in character.

5. Stay true to your canons, including the historical and cultural contexts.

6. Keep public posts PG-13. If there is something above that rating that you want to play out, all you need to do is lock it to the comm and stick it behind a cut with the appropriate warning.

7. Tag around. Pretty straight forward. Tag with people not just in your circle of friends or casts.

8. Players must be 18 or older. This is due to laws and we'd rather not get in trouble. As we are smut/violence friendly, this is necessary.

9. An HMD post in your character journal is required. This post does NOT have to be anon enabled. If you decide to have anon turned off but players still with to leave anon crit, they may send the crit to the mods who will pass it on without revealing their identity to you. This is to avoid bullying.

10. No fourth-walling. We know that it's canon for some characters to know of other canons (Tony from NCIS knowing about Star Wars for example), but it can't be garunteed that every player from a specific canon will want their characters to know they're fictional. To work with this, we suggest altering the names of the canons that your character knows and only mentioning similarities. Harry Potter becomes Harold Smith and gee isn't it weird how much his life sounds like this book I've read. For canons based on mythology: Your character is allowed to know the myth as it stands, but not the series based on it.

OOC Chat (AIM, Plurk, Etc) Rules

1. Respect others.

2. Notify the Moderators if you or another player is being harassed, bullied, or otherwise ridiculed by fellow players. This includes HMD anon bullying.

3. If anyone gives you trouble for the sexuality of you or your characters to the point of hostility or harassment, save records and please report it to the mods (printscreen, links, etc. Word docs are not accepted without other collaboration).

4. Anon. As anonymous posting tends to cause nothing but drama, if someone is found to have posted in one of the anon comms bashing another player in game, and is brought to the attention of the mods, that player will be spoken to. A strike or outright ban is possible, depending upon the result of the anon bashing. Anon compliments are more than welcome.

5. Have a rule suggestion? Please contact the mod journal with the rule you'd like added and a reason why.

App rules:

1. Please link your application to this page with the character name and series in the subject line, along with if they've been reserved.

2. Keep your application public, or place it in your character journal's profile. If it's discovered you have privated the entry, you will receive a request to change it or receive a strike.

3. Apps will be judged on a monthly basis starting 12am PST on the first day of the month and lasting through 11:59pm on the seventh. You are welcome to post your app at any point beyond then.

4. We do not accept app challenges. If a character is reserved, they're safe unless the reserve expires or the app is rejected. You are welcome to app that character, however the one reserved will be looked at first. Unless the reserved app is outright rejected, the second one won't be looked at.

5a. Headcanon is something that if it involves another character that is already in game, you need to discuss it with the other player before apping. That player had their character in first, therefore they may well have mentioned their headcanon in game, and any contradiction would add confusion.

5b. You are allowed to take a character from any point in series. If there are periods where they disappear and it's not known what they've gone through/done, but you have headcanon for this period, go ahead and add it in.

6a. In interest of keeping the elements fairly evenly distributed, an element may be temporarily closed until the others can catch up.

6b. Each player can only have one character for an element.
